My Students
Do you remember the first paper you wrote or report you finished? The research you did the editing process to improve your writing, working with your peers to make corrections, it was all a great experience and a wonderful learning opportunity.
My students are physically challenged and developmentally delayed.
Some have trouble talking because they do not have the vocal cord strength and others have difficulty with writing due to their disability. We use computers and iPads to do much of the students writing and for some the iPad is used as a speaking device. My students are mainly from inner city, low-income families.
My Project
The students use technology to do much of their work. We use the iPads and laptops but in the end the students like to have a project they can take home. The materials(card stock paper and printer ink) we are requesting will allow the students to print their reports and have final copies to take home to their parents. The students need to be able to take home their finished work and show it with pride.
Showing their work will help my disabled students feel good about themselves.
It will build self-esteem. These materials will help students to learn grow and create. The printer ink helps the special needs students who cannot write have a medium to finish a project. The paper will make their work colorful and real.
More than half of students from low‑income households
