My Students
Creativity is inside all of us! It is energy waiting to flow out and be recognized.
My students are a group of multi-age first and second grade students.
They are naturally inquisitive and creative. I want to foster those elements and encourage students to take chances. Within the walls of my classroom, I want my students to dream big until it is busting at the seams with that creativity and individual expression.
My Project
My students will use the materials I am requesting to express themselves creatively in numerous subject areas. I am requesting a keyboard that will become a musical number line to help kids with math. It will also have the alphabet written on it so they can play their spelling words. They will also be encouraged to compose melodies and write lyrics to express their learning. I am requesting a table top easel for students to paint their word work, pictures to go with stories, back drops for our puppet theater where they will act out stories and scripts they have written, and create masterpieces for our Masterpiece Gallery where they will write about their creations. The kinetic sand is such a relaxing tactile experience! The students will be able to use it for word building or relaxation if they need a break from classroom activities. The art supplies requested will be used along with the activities listed above and anything else the students can think to create.
