My students live in an out of the way town in Alaska. Many are Alaska natives with a strong sense of culture and pride. Although our community is lucky to be surrounded by nature, we are a Tier One, low-income school.
It is important for students to develop a love of reading as early as possible.
When students enjoy reading, their reading skills will improve along with many other valuable skills. Harry Potter is the perfect way to help kids develop their love of reading!
My Project
With these materials, students will learn the elements of dying cotton and various tie-dye techniques. Not only will students have fun using these products to make tie-dye t-shirts and masks, but they will also get to keep their final products as a keepsake for years to come!
Although Art is sometimes overlooked in education, it is important for students to have the opportunity to express themselves.
I know that this project will allow my students to explore their creative side as well as provide them with valuable information and understanding.
