Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The Art of Thinking is a new curriculum in our school district. This class aims to teach students how to think critically and build logical reasoning skills. To do that, students will be reading, writing, thinking, and discussing for the entire class period! So, I will need to provide writing materials for the students as well as hand sanitizer and a bell to help keep time.
Students in the Houston Independent School District are struggling to keep up with national testing standards.
Most students are not even reaching grade level expectations. At this rate, many of them will not realize their lifelong dreams and goals. Instead, their low educational performance will steer them towards a life of low skilled work. This new class is one of many in the district that is trying to turn this trend around. We are going to push students to a higher standard of learning. Please help us do it!
