This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach over 700 students ranging from Kindergarten to Fifth grade at two Title I schools. My students live in a rural part of South Carolina and come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. This project would support the students at my schools.

My students are creative, smart, and eager to have hands-on learning activities that will prepare them to become 21st-century learners.

I want all of my students to have the opportunity to create artwork with all the materials they need and provide them with a fun, engaging, and hands-on learning environment.

My Project

My students love to draw and read! The assortment of books that I am requesting include how to draw books and books about a number of diverse artists. It is important to have a comprehensive library in the art room, so students can research and get inspired for their projects. I want my students to have books to read that engage them in the visual arts.

Your donations will help support a love of reading and drawing for over 700 students between my 2 different schools!

These books will be loved and read for years to come, and will engage hundreds of Kindergarten through 5th grade students.
