This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing! Their enthusiasm for learning never ceases to amaze me. They work hard every day, staying engaged with hands-on activities and games that help them practice their skills and increase their knowledge. I love giving them the tools they need to succeed. We are a low socioeconomic area and highly diverse school in Central California. Nearly all of my students' learning happens at school. Most of my students have not traveled beyond our city walls. We are a small school with a big heart!
My Project
Despite the technology focus of the times, cursive handwriting is not obsolete! I want to teach my students how to write in cursive. We need practice paper, composition books, and a blackline master book for additional practice.
The art of cursive stimulates connections between the left and right hemispheres of the brain.
The entire brain is working. Students who can write in cursive show improved brain development in the areas of thinking, language, and working memory. They have improved retention, legibility, and focus.
I am very excited to give my students the advantage of knowing the art of cursive handwriting.
