This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are passionate and looking for opportunities to unplug in order to develop the art of conversation! The majority of my students have known each other since Kindergarten however their interactions are limited and often revolve around the use of technology. They are seeking the chance to engage collaboratively with one another in a more authentic fashion!
My Project
The lost art of conversation needs to make a comeback and my students yearn for the chance to unplug and strike of conversation with one another! This project will provide them an opportunity to engage in social discourse through the use of games. They will work collaboratively to read/follow directions, problem solve, develop social skills, and most importantly unplug for some good ole fashion fun! These materials will be utilized during their lunch period where they would often sit isolated on their phone or device. These games will breathe life back into the cafeteria as students talk and laugh together!
