My Students
My students are unique in their own way. Each of them bring their own talent and strength to the classroom environment. Our school is predominantly African Americans students with a few Hispanic and Asian populations and 1% white. Most of these students are low leveled students.
Their ability to read and write are extremely poor and weak.
Regardless of their insufficiency they have a spirit to learn which makes my job easier. With my guidance and high expectation,I know they can learn.
My Project
Active learning begins where students are invested in their own learning. Therefore, I believed that if students are given the tools for learning, they will take ownership for their learning.
These materials, post-it notes, highlighters, rulers, notebooks and paper will assist students in interacting with the text such as annotation, writing questions, identifying key ideas and concepts via color coding and presenting their work in way that showcase what they are learning that stood out for them.
Literacy has become the motto of the day where their learning must be evidential with a purpose in mind. This will enable them to rise to the occasion and produce an excellent product.
