When students enter my class, it is often their very first school experience. They are boys and girls from very diverse backgrounds, with varying skills and abilities. Our classroom community welcomes all who enter to grow with us as we sing, dance, paint, share, eat and learn.
Throughout the year we have many celebrations to recognize holidays, birthdays and the wonderful accomplishments of our students.
My goal as a teacher is to expose my students to new and exciting materials and programs, in order to spark interest and creativity!
My Project
I am requesting an Apple TV for my classroom. Having an Apple TV in our pre-k classroom would open a whole world of educational possibilities for my students!
The Apple TV gives me the ability to directly cast from our class iPad to the screen, and have students work on activities on the iPad, while the rest of the students observe.
Right now we are using an interactive white board to display lessons. This display is attached to my desktop computer. Students have to either travel from their seat to the desk to do the work, or worse, climb onto a step to reach the interactive board.
Using the Apple TV and the screencast, I can move around the room and have students use the device from anywhere. In addition, I can braodcast music and videos during work time, without having to use my desktop computer, which leaves that device available for other student work.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
