This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
"Where are they going?" one friend asked another while they both watched a line of ants crawling across the pavement and up the wall. My students are curious about the natural environment and ask thoughtful questions. They often bring leaves, flowers, and rocks inside the classroom after playing and exploring outdoors. Periodically, an insect will make its way into the classroom on the palm of a student's hand.
I would like to help "bring the outside in." Having an ant farm in our classroom will help me guide my students' explorations and investigations.
This will help my preschoolers gain firsthand knowledge about ants and give them the capacity to answer some of their own questions.
The ant farm will be added to our Discovery center.
