The Animal Kingdom

My Students

Help our first grade students have the supplies to create their own take home book about the animal kingdom to add to their home library. This will bring a hands on learning activity for our children.

80 first graders come to our Title One public school with very little life experiences.

These 6 and 7 year olds are so grateful for everything that the school or teachers provide for them. The families of the students who attend our school are not financially able to donate extra or basic supplies to help the students with their school experience. These students are inquisitive and excited to learn and grow.

My Project

The first grade team as a part of our science curriculum, will be guiding the first graders through the animal kingdom of our planet earth. Through the use of paint and paper, as well as technology and stories, the students will be able to make their own take home book named The Animal Kingdom of the World. The students will be creating the animals by painting and making their habitats through art. This hands on approach will enable the students to experience the animals more closely and in making their own book, they will hopefully make a memory of their experiences in this first grade unit.

The first grade students at our school do not come to us with many life experiences.

Many have never even been to our city zoo. In this tight economic time in our state, we are seeking support to add enrichment to our student's academic experiences. Without your donations we are unable to have the supplies to make this wonderful student book happen.
