My students need to read this book! We are trying it out this year, and have some copies in the room, but need this additional amount to make a copy available to each student.

My Students
My students come from low to very low income neighborhoods around San Francisco, but I truly love teaching them, because their hearts are tremendous, and Leadership is a college-bound and socially conscious charter school, so they know how to work hard for their futures.
This project would help us complete a full set of a class novel we really want to use this year, Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist, which really speaks to our mission and vision here at Leadership High.
My Project
This project being funded will allow my students to each check out their own copy of the novel, allowing each student to keep the book with them for the duration of the unit, and for reference.
In previous years, we had been making do with class sets plus a few copies for check-outs for each novel, but the ideal scenario is for each student to have a book to themselves for the unit.
We have been able to build a 1 book to 1 student ratio for our other books, and would love to complete our book library with The Alchemist!
