My Project
I am a special education case manager at North Lawndale College Prep- Christiana campus that is located on the west side of Chicago. Our special education team is seeking support for a project aimed at assisting special education teachers with Individualized Education Program (IEP) writing, this initiative holds immense value in ensuring the success and well-being of students with disabilities. This resource will play a crucial role in providing the necessary resources for our educators to develop impeccable IEP goals tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Goalbook toolkit will benefit special education students because individualized learning plans will be a reflection of the needs of each student. When teachers are able to identify and teach to these deficits, the student will be able to overcome their educational obstacles.
There are plenty of positive outcomes resulting from well-crafted IEP goals, such as improved academic performance, enhanced social-emotional development, and increased independence.
To create a comprehensive IEP, teachers must be equipped with resources. Goalbook is one of them! Here at North Lawndale, we have seen the growth of our diverse learners through creating comprehensive IEP's. In some cases, scholars have been dismissed from special education services because of their tremendous growth. We want to continue to strive for excellence for this population and encourage them to beat all odds. Your donations will help our under served community with a resource that will benefit all of our students with disabilities.
