This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are working hard to master difficult math skills. The philosophy in our classroom is, "it's OK to make mistakes."
We are an inner-city school in a high-poverty area.
Our students are aspiring artists that have a loving and safe environment to come to and show much appreciation for their school. They are loud, proud and willing to work hard because many realize that education is one of the most important things in their lives.
My Project
My students are crunching numbers in preparation for upcoming high-stakes assessments. Making mistakes, working to correct them and striving for perfection is the classroom mantra. We are in need of pencils and erasers to keep trying to master those math skills that will lead to success.
My students need pencils and erasers so they can work diligently to master math skills.
More time is available for learning and teaching when pencils and erasers are readily accessible at the very beginning of class. Knowing these resources are available makes kids more comfortable, allowing them to produce better quality work. My students and I thank you in advance for supporting our classroom.
