This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My scholars are kids who love art! They are all super creative and truly love expressing themselves in my class. My scholars come from all walks of life and receiving new materials would be incredible for all of them. They all want to succeed and learn from intro to art, but want to be able to have access to many different types of materials and mediums in order to expand their horizons in art.

My Project

In the Texture Sculpture Project, my students will have the awesome opportunity to release their creativity in a brand new medium. Scholars will learn how to properly apply sculpting techniques and experiment with new materials such as plaster and air dry clay. Scholars will utilize air-dry clay to create their own abstract sculptures.

By sculpting the scholars can truly experiment when it comes to the many different types of texture that can be created through this material.

The students have been pleading to sculpt and these materials would help immensely in introducing them to how clay operates as an artistic material.
