This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at my Title I school are kind, innocent, and hardworking. I want to keep them excited and engaged throughout their learning career.

Our school is a place where we are excited about learning and motivated by classroom chants, funny faces, praise, and rewards.

I want to instill in my students a love for learning. Our goal is to open the doors in their minds to new worlds where imagination and putting thoughts to paper is exhilarating. I need your help to do that.

We choose to teach students to be responsible for their own learning, and motivate them to love reading, writing, math, science, making friends, and attending school. They know how much we care for them, and they know how hard we work to get new things for our classrooms. Finally, they know that our classrooms are only as fun and successful as it is because of class volunteers and donors like you.

My Project

My district no longer provides lessons and curriculum for our classrooms. Respectively, this year I began my first year in 3rd grade with minimal resources for lesson planning, and my principal provided me with a PDF of some lessons a teacher used in another district some years back. These rigorous lessons are created by a teacher with student engagement and performance in mind.

In order to follow these lessons, I need these mentor texts for our classroom.

These books go across all genres, from informational to historical fiction to poetry, and everything in between. They will even allow me to cover my Social Studies standards at the same time as my Reading standards!
