This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are pre-kindergarten through fifth graders who are full of energy. They visit the library once per week for a scheduled special. In addition, teachers send students to the library to complete a task or come for a full class activity. Some also come during recess for fun or to mentor younger students. The students have adapted to the challenges thrown at them this past year and are not only surviving but thriving in this very different environment. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love reading diverse books, participating in maker space activities and STEM challenges, and are very curious. There are over 1,400 students in our school! I have a large population of English language learners, many newcomers to the country this year. They are eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. My students are both general and special education students. They are all amazing kids!
I am requesting the School Law text book to add to my professional collection as I continue to teach and advocate for my students.
