My Students

Math can be overwhelming, especially to students with special needs. It is my job to provide my students with opportunities to master the common core standards set for their grade level and to provide them with the support they need to do this successfully.

My students are incredible!

My students are in first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade. They are curious, inquisitive, hard-working, and dedicated. All of my students have Individualized Educational Plans because they have been diagnosed with a disability. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch at school. All of my students come from high poverty areas and all of my students love coming to school. All of my students are brilliant individuals who learn differently than their peers. All of my students will be successful and it's my job to create learning opportunities that ensures this.

My Project

These grade specific (first, second, third, and fourth) Common Core Math Learning Centers, Common Core Math Cards, and Common Core Math Activity Cards will be put to good use in my classroom! I have groups of three to ten students at a time and often they are mixed grade levels. These materials will give me the opportunity to tailor lessons specific to both their needs and grade level, and differentiate my instruction accordingly. My students are capable of anything they set their minds to and I know they can meet the standards set forth for them in the Common Core Math Framework. These materials will be engaging, fun, different, and refreshing for students to use. I truly think these materials will help take them to the next level and help them perform on the same level as their non special education peers. I am specifically requesting common core related materials to help them better master their grade level standards.

Donations to this project will improve the learning in my classroom!

It will give students opportunities to explore common core math content at their grade level and receive differentiated instruction tailored to what they need to work on. I know that my students would love to be able to learn with these materials and would be grateful to have the opportunity to use them in their learning! The common core learning cards and learning centers will be fun, engaging, and a new way of looking at math!
