This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For the first time in my teaching career, I am going to loop with my 2nd graders as them become 3rd graders! It's exciting because I know exactly what we need for next year to help us all be successful! I would love to be able to start the year with a focus on organization. Non-Tip Book Bins will help each child have a spot for their notebooks, folders, and books with the added benefit of multiple book bins not tipping over throughout the day. Durable, plastic folders will help students organize unfinished work, as well as important papers that need to be sent home. Individual whiteboards are used on a daily basis in everything from word study to math. They help students stay engaged, and are a great quick assessment for me to see who is struggling and who needs to be challenged. Being able to provide students with a notebook to take home will help them see themselves as writers and will give them a space to write nightly- practicing skills taught in the classroom, as well as a great communication tool for the students and me.
