My Project
My kindergarten students love coming to school. They love seeing their peers and teachers each day. Most of all, they love to play. With everything that is going on this school year, they are still motivated and eager to learn, but they are struggling with phonics and phonemic awareness. These tools and resources are going to help my kiddos play, learn, and show tremendous improvement in phonics and phonemic awareness. The alphabet letter tubs and vowel tubs would be great independent center activities that will allow them to practice letters and letter sounds. The phonics games can be played during small group work so they can help each other and cheer each other on while learning beginning, middle, and ending letter sounds. The sentence strips would be great for writing sight words and making sight word concentration games. The sight word readers would be so helpful for my students to put all of their play with the letters, letter sounds, and sight word knowledge into practice when they are reading fiction and nonfiction texts. My students would have a much stronger foundation and be more prepared for first grade with these resources.
