This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In our classroom we try to relate the math that we are doing to the real world. The students are better at grasping concepts when they can visualize and connect to them. One of our biggest challenges in learning is technology.
My students are amazing.
They work hard each and everyday. I teach the honors 7th grade class and they are a fun bunch. These students are funny, dedicated, and smart. They ask questions to help their understanding. They love to discuss their work with each other and always want to learn new things.
My Project
When we go to the computer lab, we usually have to creative. There are not enough working computers for all of the students to do research or the on-line math program that helps bridge mathematical gaps in learning. My school does not have a technology budget to buy new computers so the ones in this shopping list will let every child get a chance to do some individual learning.
These computers will also give my students a chance to research for our projects.
In one project, we learn how the process of buying a car using simple interest for loans and percents for discounts.
