Teenage Boys In Need: Help Replace Worn-Out Backpacks

My students need self-esteem building Boy's Backpacks for Middle School.

My Students

The students of my self-Contained classroom and ICT Classroom inspired me to do something sweet for them because they are all wonderful and eager to learn.

On several occasions students have entered my classroom to ask me to hand-sew broken straps, holes, or even the entire side of their school backpacks.

Within a few weeks the hand-stitched backpack usually falls apart. Therefore, I am pleading for several backpacks for my students to safely store their personal items all year around.

Our school is a Title I school which has nearly 1000 students from various and similar backgrounds all of whom are struggling to receive the best education possible while dealing with the circumstances of living in a poor and over crowded school district.

Donating to our project will help to keep a warm smile on my students' faces.

A typical day in my 6-8th grade Self-Contained and ICT classroom for students with special needs can be demanding and stimulating. I am constantly on my feet all day. My days are spent constantly redirecting my student’s behaviors, teaching to meet the academic needs of each individual student, giving out rewards.

My Project

This project will help to improve my students’ self-esteem, family lives and improve their learning at school. On a number of occasions students have entered my classroom to ask me to hand-sew broken straps, holes, and even the whole side of their worm-out school backpacks. With your donations of backpacks, my students will stay organized; safely store their personal items all year around. They will be able to fill their torn- free backpacks with personal hygiene items and school supplies while traveling from home to school and back again. Donating to our project will help to keep a warm smile on my students’ faces.
