My Project
Students in my 8th grade math class often comment that our lessons on finance, banking, and money are the most impactful of the year. Students understand that financial literacy is a crucial part of their education, but there isn't much time in the math curriculum dedicated to teaching this important topic. I would like to create a time and space for us to learn about banks, credit cards, and finance by creating a book club around finances. The books in this project will be used as a springboard for conversations and lessons about finances. Students have a natural curiosity and an interest in this topic, so I am excited to see what a book club will bring to my classroom!
