I have a wonderful class of 14 smart, independent and beautiful little firsties! My class is driven on technology, as we enter the technology era of our lives! My students like to show me how to do things on the computer and I love it! We use a system of technology-based learning stations within the classroom, which is why technology is a must! We currently only have a student-computer ratio of 4:1, which is just very hard to accommodate with a bunch of friendly little firsties, talk about chaos! I am asking for one MacBook Air to be funded for our classroom to use as they continue their adventure in learning through the use of technology! By adding another computer into the station rotation, my students will achieve more engagement during their time with the computer, thus, creating a much higher level of learning success! Help us become an even more fantastic first grade class! Every little bit counts and each and every child in my class will appreciate any sort of gesture!
My Project
We currently have a low student to computer ratio. During our technology-based learning stations that are implemented each day, 3-4 students are having to share a single computer! I don't know about you, but if you've ever seen 4 first graders on a computer at once, it will make you cringe. I want my students to enjoy using a computer so that they will be actively engaged when using it. We are on a technology era and it is up to us, as educators, to ensure that we are encouraging students to learn how to use different types of technology. By adding a MacBook Air to my classroom, my students will have a durable computer that is desperately needed to be used within our classroom. My class is developed around technology and it is only fair to may students to make sure they have the best technology to use.
