This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a special education resource room. I take students for small group and/or one-on-one instruction in order to meet their special education goals and objectives. My students are highly energetic and motivated learners. I work with students with varying disabilities such as intellectual disabilities, ADHD, speech and language impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and learning disabilities. In addition, about half of my students are also English Language Learners and all the students in my school receive free lunch and breakfasts.
My Project
My students love technology and have gotten used to having iPads in the resource room. We have 6 iPads for our students to use. However, 2 of those iPads have fallen into disrepair (one has a cracked screen and the other's headphone jack doesn't work) and both have run out of memory. It is time for us to update those iPads to newer models with more memory for applications. Our students use the iPads for programs such as Lexia, Reflex Math, Imagine Learning, Symphony Math, ABC Mouse, Splash Math and more!
