Technology Tools to Enhance Learning

My students need a document camera, laptop, and printer to project their work on the white board to increase their comprehension of class assignments.

My Students

I work with students who are struggling readers and read 2 or 3 years below grade level. Due to many negative experiences with reading, the students have developed negative attitudes towards school and frequently demonstrate poor classroom behavior. My goal is to develop life-long learners.

Our school is located in a low socioeconomic area and a high percentage of our students live in poverty.

I realize with guidance and instruction, I can assist these students in realizing their full potential. I have high expectations for these young people and expect to see great academic growth throughout the year.

My Project

We are requesting technological tools for the classroom that will enhance students' learning. The laptop and document camera will be used to project assignments. This decreases the amount of paper in the classroom. Furthermore, students are actively engaged, collaborating, and sharing their knowledge with their peers. We also need a printer in the classroom to publish students' writing.

Funding this grant will improve the quality of my classroom instruction.

With students actively engaged in their learning, we can expect an increase in academic achievement and learning.
