I am a second grade teacher at a Title 1 school. I teach at a small rural school with many culturally diverse students. There are 25 bright, creative, and energetic students in my classroom. I strive to create a sense of community within our classroom as well as building a positive relationship with each student. I believe in educating the whole child academically, socially and emotionally. I believe my students will thrive best in an environment where they feel safe, loved and respected.
My Project
The use of technology has become increasingly popular in the classroom and at home. I would like to provide my students with the use of technology in a meaningful and enjoyable way. The fire tablets will provide my students with great literature options for them to read independently as well as have the option for the stories to be read to them. This will help build a love for reading as well as help my struggling readers.
The pandemic has created many gaps in my student’s learning due to school closures and lack of resources at home.
I hope to utilize programs through technology that will help bridge the gaps of my learners academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe in educating the whole child while helping them build a strong foundation for success.
