My students are an amazing group of first graders who love to learn and are eager to please. They deserve every opportunity that can be provided to learn academic and social skills. The school that we attend has a high poverty rate where 85% of the students receive free or reduced-price meals. The students come from a variety of backgrounds, and they have a wide range of abilities and strengths. Expectations are set high so that they will be prepared for what is expected of them in the future.
My goal is to do anything possible to set them up for success.

The camera, projector and screen are necessary for read aloud stories and teaching demonstrations in all academic areas. Having a real time camera and screen will allow students to see the process of learning while I model important skills, strategies and expectations.
I have also chosen a laminator to reinforce resources that we will be using all year long. This will keep items such as math tools, reading strategies, writing strategies and prompts, etc. protected as we use them everyday.
When students are allowed to come back to the building these items will still be so important. I will be able to have anchor charts and papers projected to different parts of the room where students can view them easily.
