My Students
My students attend a preschool through fifth grade, NYC public school. They have a range of speech and language disabilities and diverse learning styles. To meet the unique needs of my scholars I incorporate a hands-on, authentic, data-driven, and differentiated approach. My speech and language therapy sessions foster an environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged.
My role is to not only help children improve their speech and language skills but to aid students in becoming contributing members of their classroom community.
My Project
This year school is in-person but my students and I are behind masks which makes it difficult to teach speech and language skills.
Technology is needed so that videos and various visual aids can be used to model and teach speech and language strategies.
This laptop will support data collection and collaboration with caregivers and school professionals to promote student academic, emotional, and social success.
Furthermore, if there is an emergency school closure and/or the need to quarantine it will allow for a seamless transition to remote speech and language therapy.
