Technology to Support English, French, and Journalism Instruction

My Students

My students are eager, inquisitive, and communicative, generally positive in this time of distance learning online where we have established a respectful “class” environment. Students in my English and French classes are learning about literature, language, writing and presenting, and my emerging journalists are finding their voices and forming opinions writing for The Sentinel newspaper. My students are good at making connections and showing appreciation in trying times of remote learning.

My Project

A computer will allow students access to engaging curriculum, presentations and more specific instruction requiring enhanced technology and online features. Students in French, English and journalism will be able to see, hear and learn through creative video, interactive educational and instructional options, and Zoom features. Through shared screens and language learning tools, students will have quality in-class access to material, including class listening material from culturally relevant French speaking communities. Students will have more quality class experiences including literary features and engaging academic information. The instructor will have consistent access to instructional and assessment tools for guiding and supporting through digital assessment and for the student journalism education program.
