My Students
Lack of technology, not skill or ability, is what's holding my students back. With the aid of a scanner students can put their work into a professional digital format. I am requesting equipment to help students turn their amazing artwork into a digital portfolio to meet college entrance requirements
My students are inner city students, grades 9-12, that are attending a school that offers AP classes but has a minimally supplied art room.
I believe that with the right technology in place, students can not only showcase their artistic skills but they can also build on and enhance their knowledge of technology through the arts as well.
My Project
I am coming from another inner city school that was rich in technology that had an ELMO that I used for demonstrations, a color printer, a scanner, a digital camera, and Photoshop on student computers. I would like to recreate this setup in my new classroom because I have experience using this technology and have had amazing results. These pieces of equipment enhance students' learning and allow them to achieve superior craftsmanship in their final art pieces and portfolios.
Your donation will effect close to the 1000 students that come through the art department each year.
It will allow them the ability to be competitive with the quality of their portfolios/artwork while also teaching them how to use technology in real world applications.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
