This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
COVID-19 has impacted students across Arizona. Many schools and their students were forced to turn to distance learning in order to access their education. Schools were also hit with staffing shortages which continue to require many students to access their learning virtually. Special education services are being provided virtually to ensure all students can access the services they need.
As a Speech and Language Pathologist, virtual services are a crucial way to provide students with the services needed.
I provide services for many schools across Arizona and require adequate technology to do so. When receiving virtual services, students need to be able to clearly see me while I have access to multiple virtual materials at once. A large computer monitor will allow me to quickly access virtual learning materials and student files so that services can be provided efficiently. COVID-19 has forced educators and students to quickly learn how to navigate a virtual world; therefore, it is imperative we have the tools required to make that happen.
