Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Third-grader (Noun)
\ˈthərd grā-dər\
- Someone who is a mathematician, reader, writer, artist, scientist, dancer, leader, explorer, and friend
- Someone who NEEDS access to technology
My third graders are curious and they try hard...really hard. They love to read, write, explore, and find answers to questions.
Did you know that they are also BILINGUAL, bicultural, and biliterate? They speak, read, and write in two languages (English and Spanish). That also means that during the school day, they learn in both languages.
My Project
It is 2017 and the fact is...we NEED computers in our classroom. It is time to make sure each student has access to technology at school.
These 2 Chromebooks will allow my students to access the Internet, work on word processing skills, practice math, and more importantly, share their work with authentic audiences.
This project will also allow me to introduce Google Classroom to my students, create and maintain a classroom blog (student driven), and teach research skills. Third graders will take a closer look at our environment and help create awareness. These Chromebooks are just what we need to do so.
Equipping students with 21st Century skills is not a luxury...it is giving them what they need to be successful.
2 Chromebook computers = a world of possibilities.
