This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Whole group instruction does not provide differentiation and individualized learning for my scholars, who range from emergent readers to fluent, chapter book readers. Small group instruction, with practice on technology usage, will maximize the learning for these scholars who are eager to learn.
My students hail from diverse backgrounds, from "military brats" to longshoremen offspring, to families who have lived in the neighborhood of our school community for decades.
Because of this, our school is considered a transient school with many students coming in and out, based on where their parents need to be. This causes inconsistency in their learning, and often the students suffer and lose out on the learning. Nevertheless, they are eager to work together and learn, absorb what's happening in the classroom, and yearn to belong. Providing these scholars with consistent small group instruction, with this technology component, will enhance their learning and maximize each learning minute individualized to each student's specific needs. They will benefit greatly with the usage of technology in the classroom environment on a daily basis.
My Project
Your donation will greatly help my students in this Title 1 school be more successful and prepared for 21st Century learning.
These Chromebooks and headphones will assist to individualize the learning for these scholars and maximize each learning minute to their specific learning abilities.
They will be able to type, revise, and edit their essays, practice their typing skills to better prepare them for the SBAC, and work collaboratively on projects and activities all year long. You will allow these scholars to be more accountable for their own learning, knowledge, and growth, giving them access to the concepts each student needs to master the most. Likewise, you will be providing these scholars the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, a necessary skill to have as contributing members of our society.
