My Students
My students are crazy about technology! Our classroom has recently been gifted an interactive white board in order to enhance instruction and student involvement with technology. This is fantastic! However, there is one problem...no we don't have appropriate software to use the board effectively.
I am a 2nd grade teacher of 83 hardworking and deserving kids in Florida.
Our classroom is extremely diverse. I have little ones that struggle on a day to day basis and students who are incredibly brilliant. I also service students who don't speak English well. Through it all, we work together to meet the standards set for us by our state.
My Project
This CD-Rom package will serve two purposes for my students. First, it will help them reach the Technology Standards set by the state of Florida. They will become familiar with how to use a computer and the interactive whiteboard (all of which are currently used in the business fields on a daily basis.) Secondly, these 8 CD-Rom's have a science focus. While meeting the technology standards, the students will be deepening their science content knowledge as well. This resource will provide a truly unique learning experience for my students.
On a daily basis, students in other countries are outperforming American students in many areas including science and technology.
Please give my students a fighting chance in competing with peers from other places all over the world. Funding this project could help an American student have the experience she/he needs to succeed in the future.
