Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our 3rd grade GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) classroom, students are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and learn from a wide range of perspectives. One of our key goals is to help students understand and appreciate racial justice and representation—concepts that are deeply connected to who we are and the world we live in.
With access to a MacBook Air, my students will have the opportunity to explore diverse stories, research important historical and cultural figures, and create projects that celebrate inclusion and equity.
They'll use the device to:
Write opinion pieces and reflections based on diverse texts
Research changemakers from a variety of cultures and backgrounds
Design digital presentations and publish writing that elevates marginalized voices
Participate in virtual events, museums, and author visits that explore justice and representation
This laptop will serve as a creative and academic hub, allowing students to go beyond traditional lessons and bring their learning to life. In our GATE classroom, students don’t just learn facts—they engage deeply with ideas that help them grow as responsible, compassionate citizens.
Your support will help these curious, thoughtful learners utilize technology to gain a deeper understanding of the world—and their ability to shape it.
