My Students
My students are eager to learn but each one is at a different academic level. Most of my students enjoy math but at times it does get a little dry. Engaging them in core math strategies through technology is a great way to keep their minds moving!
My students are in third and fourth grade in a specialized room that focuses on behavior intervention strategies.
These students face many challenges each day on top of the challenge to continue to learn and grow. Our school does an excellent job of providing resources to students but our room requires a bit more to flourish. Our room is structured to allow students to work together on academics to enhance social skills. Adding a technology component ensures that our students are engaged during core academic times!
My Project
My students need an iPad to enhance their learning in our centers. There are tons of great math resources we can access through technology! Math is taught daily in our room through various measures. We try to reach students each day through technology and direct instruction. Ideally students work at their desks for a portion of math on independent work. We envision using the iPad for games to enhance our independent station and allow students more opportunities to work together and succeed.
Most of our students are not exposed to many fun activities and learning new concepts are a struggle for them.
Providing academic games and drills through technology helps our students grow academically and socially, giving them a great chance at a successful future.
