My Students
My students are absolutely incredible. They work hard every day, they help each other, and they do their best to include everyone. My students are on varying levels ranging from below-level learners receiving special education support to gifted learners who are learning on a 6th grade level.
Despite their differences, my students have become a family that supports each other and our community.
Our school has an emphasis on service learning and it shows. My students go out of their way to help others every day. They all receive daily Spanish instruction in order to broaden their views of the world and to better help our community. The kids in my class are some of the most amazing people I've ever met.
My Project
My students' abilities fall within six different grade levels. One of the best ways to reach all learners is through technology. There are thousands of apps available for iPads that can adapt to students' levels and add extra enrichment or fill in gaps.
If my class had enough iPads for a small group, my students would be engaged in learning activities for all three groups.
Two of the groups would be run by teachers and the third group would be the iPad group.
Children tend to like technology and are able to stay on task when technology is involved. iPads would solve the problem of goofing off while in an independent station. iPads have fantastic apps for teachers that provide in-depth reports of how students are doing in math, reading, or science.
