My Students

My students are all amazing! Each student is unique in their own way, making them even more extraordinary. My fourth grade students are enthusiastic children who want to succeed. Many receive free or reduced lunch at our Title One school in New York City.

My students are of all varying abilities.

Each child is different in their own unique way. I have 30 fourth grade students in an ICT classroom. 11 of my students are students with disabilities. As a special educator, I strive each and every day to support my students with the materials they need to achieve success. Every child learns differently and in their own way. Therefore, a teacher must create an environment that fits the need of each individual student. Fortunately, our school is full of amazing teachers who always put their students first. We not only care about our students academically, but socially as well. We want them to be able to be just as successful outside of the classroom as they are in the classroom. We want to create equal opportunities for our diverse learners, so that they all can achieve success.

My Project

iPads and tablets in the classroom can be extremely beneficial to diverse learners. One of the many goals of technology in the classroom is to provide students with a fun and exciting learning environment. The use of iPads and tablets helps to gain the students interest in the subject while promoting learning. In today's world, technology is all around us. Some of my students do not have the opportunity to use technology in their every day lives. iPads and tablets will enhance our students' learning experience by allowing the lesson to come alive at their fingertips. My students will use our the 5 requested iPad minis and and 2 Microsoft Surface tablets to enhance their reading fluency and comprehension, as well as, their math skills. They will be able to engage in differentiated activities to support their individual learning. The iPad minis and tablets provide educational activities for students of varying abilities. The opportunities to support their education is endless with the amount of educational apps and websites available.

In today's world there are so many technological advances.

There are numerous educational tools technology provides. If children are introduced to technology earlier in their education, they will prosper in their future years of schooling and life. It is normal for children to become easily distracted and tired during a full six hour day. iPad minis and tablets can help to create a new and interesting learning environment for our students, that will help them to get excited about learning!
