Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are always eager to learn. Many are students who speak anywhere from no English to having a good understanding of the English language. They usually speak another language primarily.
The neighborhood is economically and culturally diverse but some families are at a financial and social disadvantage.
My students do not have many opportunities outside the classroom and love learning through hands-on projects during science.
By putting Story Based Stem projects in the classrooms, the children will use their imagination and problem solving skills to create new things and solve real world situations.
My Project
Our school is limited on technology. Teachers and students are sharing laptops and tablets throughout the building. We are hoping we can add some technology to our classroom so we can download guided reading books, watch Khan Academy tutorials for math and science, go on code.org and codemonkey for computer science and so much more!!
We are hoping to receive Chromebooks and 2 tablets to help us research and code.
We would love to share and partner up in our classroom. This technology would be so beneficial to these students. Usually we have 1-2 periods a week where we can use the computers and it is not nearly enough.
