This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like to go into the Apple store and explore the iPad or iPad mini for the first time? Many of my students have not yet discovered the endless fun in learning through the iPad through the many educational apps available.
My students are goal-oriented, ambitious, hardworking scholars.
Our school is an inner-city school in Texas with the majority of our students being at-risk and from a high-need community. While our students may face many obstacles, they are very motivated students that always eager to learn.
My Project
I am requesting 1 iPad and 1 case. It is my goal to create life-long, technology-loving learners who will eventually apply the knowledge and skills they learn into their everyday lives. Through the iPad, students will learn the basics of how to work on an iPad. Through the many educational apps, students will be engaged in many interactive activities during workstations. They will be able to use the word processing program to create stories and/or learning posters for the classroom. Students will be able to mirror their creative work onto the projector to "teach" the class their lessons created on the iPad. Through this technology, learning will be meaningful and engaging.
It is my hope that you see how the iPad will help enhance and extend their learning.
