Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students with learning disabilities have difficulty being engaged in a lesson, recalling information and retaining information.
My students are students with learning challenges in the 4th and 5th grade enrolled in the general education program.
These students have auditory, visual and/or attention deficits that affect their ability to learn. It is difficult for them to grasp concepts and retain meaning. They need lessons and activities that actively engage them and visual aids to help them recall procedures.
My Project
My students need a laptop to assist them in writing multiple paragraph composition, search for images to assist their learning, and create visual aids/graphic organizers that will break down tasks and be used as reference aids in learning. My students will learn to write word documents and make colorful laminated visual aids cards to keep with them. The laptop will also be useful and much needed to learn through interactive sites in the areas of math and reading.
Please help my students learn using different modalities, visualize new concepts and practice skills in a fun and creative way.
Currently, our classroom does not have a computer and has not had one in the past three years.
