I am a Special Education teacher in a Third Grade Integrated Co-Teach Class where there are Special Education students learning alongside general education students.
Our school consists of culturally and linguistically diverse students within a low socioeconomic community.
This past year has been a challenging one with students learning remotely. Children have suffered academically, but moreover, socially and emotionally. Being back to the classroom is challenging, but in person teaching is so very needed for my students to learn.
My Project
In the year 2021, technology in the classroom is a wonderful and helpful tool in a child's education. My school is fortunate enough to have the accessibility to a number of math and reading educational websites. Unfortunately, we do not have enough technology in the classroom. My students do not have the opportunity to get on the computer and explore fun and engaging websites.
A laptop is the perfect piece of technology that is small enough and lightweight where my kiddos can grab and go!
My early finishers or students who need extra support would greatly benefit from having this piece of technology in the classroom!
