Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Don't you love seeing children get excited about learning? Well, my students get really excited when they get to go to the computer lab. Unfortunately, they only go for 30 minutes once a week and there is not a single computer in my classroom!
My 4th graders are ELL students who live in a low-income area and are predominately Hispanic.
My students have very loving and supportive parents, but unfortunately they don’t have the income to buy them the latest technology to assist them in their learning. My students depend on their classroom to have access to the technology of the 21st century. Due to serious financial problems in the district, buying a new computer for the classroom was out of the question. My students are hard-working and would benefit greatly by having a computer and a printer in their classroom that would give them access to technology that is so vital in today's society.
My Project
Having a computer in the classroom will help reinforce skills in both language arts and math. Most of my students struggle when it comes to learning, and having a computer in the classroom will help these struggling students learn and reinforce important skills in a fun and interactive way! It will also be used during independent work time where students would do activities that would target standards that they didn't do well on.
last year on the CST. My students will also use the computer to do research and write papers.
Along with the computer, a printer will allow students to print information from the computer. Students will be able to print out research and reports that they have written.
Having technology that the students can have access to in their classroom is essential in student learning.
Technology plays such a vital role in student learning and I believe the computer and printer will make a difference in the lives of my current students and those students in the years to come!
