Technology Needed for STEAM Learning

My Students

My students are 2nd graders. My students are passionate about learning and are eager to soak up new information. My students are growing up in an age of technology and love different forms of learning.

I love incorporating different forms of learning like group work.

Second grade is a key developmental year where students become more independent, innovative, and problem solvers. My students thrive off utilizing technology and different programs allow alternatives for writing, math, research and so much more. My class of dynamic learners are eager to continue honing their 21st-century skills.

My Project

I teach at a public school that is in the process of becoming STEAM certified. There is limited funding for 21st-century supplies like Chromebooks. Currently, my classroom has two computers for over 20 students to share.

Technology helps build academic skills, increase academic performance and provides alternative opportunities to reward the skills of children who learn differently.

My classroom is composed of students who come from various backgrounds and have diverse academic needs. My goal is to create an environment where technology is integrated into our STEAM studies and my students truly become 21st-century learners and hone skills (research, writing, projects) to expand and enhance their skills when using technology devices.
