My Students
My students are voracious readers, critical thinkers, and meticulous mathematicians that try their best every day. They crave the use of technology to help enhance their learning.
Many of my students come from difficult home lives, but when they walk through the door, they are excited to be at school so that they can learn.
My students are asked to try their best and to challenge themselves each and every single day. We believe that if we set our goals high, and we constantly work hard, then we will definitely achieve our goals and more. My school has a strong, tight-knit, collaborative community that is reflected in how students work in the classroom. Students embody the values of teamwork and respect, and support and encourage each other especially when they see their peers struggling.
My Project
With the use of an InFocus projector and a document camera, students will be able to better learn from each other. Students will be able to put their work for any given subject area under the camera so that other students can see the work that they have done. This will allow other students to learn from each other and understand how other students approached the same tasks. In addition, the InFocus projector will allow me to play videos and show other forms of media that can be used to enhance my students' understanding. For example, when studying a specific part of the country, I will be able to show students pictures, as well as a map of that region, on the board using the projector, so that the visuals are more easily accessible to all students.
This project will improve my classroom by allowing me to incorporate a lot of technology use into my daily lessons.
The use of technology in education is growing and as a result, my classroom technology should match those standards. Having an InFocus projector and document camera will grant my students access to so many more peoples, places and ideas that they would not normally have access to. It will allow them to better build connections with the world they live in.
