My Students
My students are very deserving and thankful for every opportunity given to them. I teach mathematics in rural Alabama middle school that serves approximately 900 students. Fifty percent of our students are minority students. One-hundred percent of our students receive free school breakfast and lunch and some students receive food over the weekend through a volunteer-based "Blessings in a Backpack" program. Despite many hardships and obstacles, my students are hard-working and determined to succeed. Your donation helps my bright students grow into everything they are capable of becoming! Thank you!
My Project
Using technology is one strategy I use to teach real-world math skills. By using PowerPoints, video clips, Prezis, and mathematics websites, I can accommodate a variety of learning styles and capture the attention of my students. To capitalize on my existing technology's potential, there are a few updates that need to be made. By having an interactive whiteboard, a computer can be reflected onto the wall so that all students in the classroom may see the teacher's screen. Speakers will allow the students to hear technology presentations and math tutorial videos. A digital wall timer will give students a visual cue of how much time is left for assignments.
