Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school every day ready and eager to learn, so I would like to provide them with the technology infusion they yearn for. We already use Whole Brain Teaching so we utilize multiple parts of the brain, and now we need to hurry up and get on the technology train!

I have spent all 6 years of my wonderful teaching career in the School District of Philadelphia.

I have taught every grade from 2nd through 6th, and I was lucky enough to be able to loop with the majority of my students from 3rd to 6th grade. This year I teach 3rd grade, and I am so fortunate to have my old students come from their middle school to tutor math on Wednesdays with my current students. I try to maintain the bond I have with my students in order to develop a community and family environment in our school. Three years ago, I discovered the Whole Brain Teaching method and worked tirelessly to became a Board Certified Whole Brain Teacher. Since then, I've become the Northeast Regional Conference Director, organizing and leading professional development for teachers in places such as Newark, NJ. In addition, I have recently been inducted to the Executive Board! I am currently working on my Masters for Reading Specialist. Education is my life!

My Project

The books and workshops that I am requesting will help me and my students grow. By integrating technology into literacy, there will be no limits to what they'll know! From student centers in the classroom to using technology when they write, my classroom of mostly English Language Learners will soon be out of sight!

Every dollar you give to this project will help my students achieve.

Please send me to this workshop to help meet my students' needs. The biggest struggles for my kids are reading and writing, so please help me get technology to make it more inviting. I thought long and hard about which classes to attend, so it would mean the world if you would lend a helping hand!
