This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Technology can become the 'wings' that will allow the educational world to fly farther and faster than ever before- if we will allow it." Those are words of Jenny Arledge. With the help of a Macbook Pro, my students will be able to soar like they have never been able to do before.
The majority of the students I teach are immigrants of the United States, therefore English Language Learners.
Their parents escaped their native country in pursuit of freedom and better opportunities. With your help, I would like to help their children with the better opportunities in education. Nonetheless, my fourth grade class is very inquisitive and are very captivated and intrigued by technology. They deserve to not only learn with the help of a textbook, but also to have interactive experiences with the infusion of technology.
My Project
Our ever changing world now requires increasingly sophisticated technology. What better way to begin learning and utilizing technology than here at school. Unfortunately, the desktop that I have connected to the SmartBoard at my school is obsolete. The required software does not function or open properly. Therefore, I cannot use the smart board to its full capacity. With the help of a Macbook Pro, I will facilitate my students learning.
No longer can you obtain a job or degree without some technology knowledge. Most, if not all jobs require the use of a computer. Technology has opened the doors to an infinite wealth of information that would not be readily available if we did not have it. My students will learn how to do Powerpoint presentations, brochures, take virtual field trips, read ebooks, create Paper Slide videos, log into the multiple educational apps and be able to watch educational videos.
Technology makes learning captivating, easier, and more effective.
As an educator I like to provide them with the opportunities/tools that would help them succeed in the future and with your help we can make this a reality.
