This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology is everywhere you look around! The days of paper and pencil, overhead machines, and typewriters are over! Students become actively engaged in learning when they have updated technology available to them!

I teach first grade in a rural elementary school in Texas.

Most of our kids come from a low socioeconomic background. Our budget is low and our desires for updated technology and extra work space is high! I am excited to get some updated technology into my classroom and into the hands of my students! My students would also be very grateful for the larger table for more work space in their writing station and anchor chart paper for our anchor charts that we make almost daily!

My Project

With the Apple iPod, my students will be able to read books, take comprehension AR test using the AR app, explore the use of QR codes in the classroom, and use countless apps in all subject areas to enhance their learning. This iPod will be able to be used in both reading and math stations, as well as create a listening station. Our writing station has become very crowded and we are in need of a more spacious work space, so my students will be very comfortable to write in their station with the new table they will receive. They will also be thankful for the colorful anchor chart paper, for our almost daily anchor charts that we create! The colors add a new variety to our room instead of the plain white ones they are used to seeing.
